Scottish Editorial Wedding Vendor Guide: A Photographer’s Perspective

This recent editorial shoot brought together three unique muses — each styled to embody a different mood and bridal identity. Through thoughtful direction, distinctive makeup artistry, and fashion-led gowns, we created a study in light, emotion, and movement which depicts a story through a cinematic lens.

This collaboration wouldn’t have been possible without Scottish Bridal Beauty, whose talented team of makeup artists and hair stylists brought every look to life. The setting was beautifully styled by Pretty Little Details, known for transforming everything from grand Scottish castles to charming village halls. The Scottish Wedding Hair and Makeup Directory was set up by Hania in early 2023, to connect brides across Scotland with trusted hair and makeup artists. From intimate Highland elopements to chic city weddings, her directory makes it easy to find and contact top beauty professionals who help every bride look and feel her best.

To open the first look, the beautiful Lisa Shepherd embodies a bold and dramatic full-glam style by Bekah Cran Make Up — an Aberdeen-based artist renowned for her sophisticated, high-impact bridal beauty and destination expertise. The look is completed with a stunning modern gown from Perfect Bridal Rooms, a luxury Aberdeen boutique known for its exquisite designer collections and timeless elegance.

The following gowns were fitted and supplied by Opus Couture, founded in 2003 by Sharon and Stewart. Celebrated as one of Scotland’s Best Bridal Retailers, their award-winning boutique is known for its luxurious, detail-driven designs — gowns that empower every bride to feel as though she’s stepping straight off the cover of a magazine.

The second look is modelled by the gorgeous figure skater Cara Paton. This look features dewy, glowing makeup and a timeless updo by Hannah Bailey, whose artistry combines elegance with ease. Based in Edinburgh and covering much of Scotland’s central belt, Hannah is known for providing a luxury experience tailored to every bride.

The third look is brought to life by the radiant Gilly Cheung, exuding effortless elegance with every glance. Her makeup and hair were masterfully created by Colleen Davidson Artistry, winner of the 2025 Confetti Wedding Award for Best Bridal Makeup. With a philosophy that celebrates enhancement over concealment, Colleen allows natural beauty to bloom — soft and glowing — a look that lets a bride feel completely herself, only more radiant.
